Victor and Patrick share an unpleasant experience in an Armenian restaurant, to which their wives had sent them so they could attempt to bury the hatchet. Victor experiments with seafood cookery and restores a Dutch marionette, which Margaret finds threatening. Meanwhile, the Meldrews have their loft converted.
