Her Forever Knight
Rating
Now only available in the anthology Paladin's Pride.
Our story starts with Paladin in the middle of having sexual relations with Moulina. The two are interrupted by an incoming communication from Kai. Kai advises Paladin that he has Genae Galaran, the daughter of the League President, aboard - she has information about her father's plans to exterminate alien species throughout the galaxy. The information is implanted in Genae's heart and it will require an Mriln healer to remove the information.
Advised by Paladin that a healer will arrive ASAP on the planet Sai-sen-Sai, Kai and Genae continue toward their destination pursued by League ships seeking to destroy both them and the planet.
These two are bonded together by their love and determination to save all non-human species. However, Kai doesn’t know that it is probable Genae will die from the retrieval process. Nor does Paladin know he has a traitor within his own home who will stop at nothing to destroy him along with Genae, and the people of Sai-sen-Sai.
The characters in this book are awesome. They're developed in such a way that readers can't help but understand why their emotions lead them to make decisions and carry out certain actions in order to achieve their goals.
Despite Kai and Genae's story starting in the previous two books of the series, Angelina Evans does such a wonderful job of providing character description, fluid dialogue, and plot details that this story can be read as a stand alone. In fact, until I reviewed this book, I didn't even know the first two books in the series were about Kai and Genae. As a result of reading this enjoyable story - I plan to purchase the preceding books as soon as I am able to. [Grin] I'll certainly be on the look out for Paladin and Llaryn's story, which I hope isn't in the too distant future.
