Twins Griffin and Donovan Kirkwood, descendants of the Pendragon, are bound to protect Elizabethan England. Griffin becomes a priest in France. Roanna Douglas, descended from Nimue and holding a personal grudge against the Kirkwoods, journeys to France to summon Tryblith, the Demon of Chaos.
