Maigret has Doubts

Adrien Josset's eyes silently pleaded with Maigret to believe him. But it looked like an "open and shut" case: 1 young man married an older woman for her money, took a mistress, and brutally stabbed his wife to death. If Josset was innocent, why hadn't he phoned the police on the night of the murder? Why had he packed a suitcase and promised his mistress a wedding? And why did he throw an unexplained knife into the Seine? All the evidence pointed to Josset's guilt...yet Maigret had doubts-and tragically little time to discover the truth before it was too late.
